Covid-19 Vaccination Policy
For Live Classes and Lessons
Under current restrictions, it is a government requirement that all people aged over 16 years old attending classes must have received both doses of an approved COVID-19 vaccination. To comply with the rules, The Music Playground staff are required to check the vaccination status of all people attending classes.
To save time at the start of class, the quickest way to check vaccination status is using the Service Victoria App on your phone as part of the QR code check-in system. Please ensure that you have added your digital vaccination certificate to the app before coming to class. Instructions on how to add your vaccination certificate can be found here:
PLEASE NOTE: Entry to classes will not be permitted without proof of vaccination (or a valid medical exemption letter). The process to upload your digital certificate to the Service Victoria app takes some time, so please ensure you complete these steps before attending class.
Covid Safety While Attending Classes
Classes are held in The Music Playground studio, 41 Challis Street, Newport.
Group classes are held in a well-ventilated room with a HEPA anti-viral air purifier, open doors creating a cross-flow of air, and fans.
Bookings are essential. Please click here to see our timetable and make a booking.
All attendees must check in via the Service Victoria QR code on arrival. A staff member will check your vaccination status at the same time.
When you have arrived at class, please seat yourself and your children at least 1.5m away from other attendees.
For preschool classes (Baby Steps, Small Steps and Playtime), all children are required to stay with their parent for the duration of the class.
Please wash your hands frequently. Hand sanitiser is available and should be used by all grown ups and older children. Instruments and equipment will not be shared between families.
Masks are not required to be worn, but are recommended and encouraged where practical.
To keep everyone safe, if any member of your family has Covid-19, or if you or your child seems unwell, has a fever, cold symptoms, or is unusually unsettled, do not attend class. You are welcome to transfer your booking through our web site to another day when your family is all well, or contact us before the class.
