Assistant Early Childhood Music Teacher (Thursday Mornings)

We are seeking a warm, enthusiastic Assistant Early Childhood Music Teacher to join our friendly music school team on Thursday mornings. This role involves working alongside an experienced classroom teacher to deliver nurturing, joyful music experiences for young children.

Our classes are playful, interactive and movement-based with a strong focus on quality education based on Suzuki, Orff and Kodály. We are looking for someone who can bring energy, creativity, and a sense of whimsy to the classroom while helping young learners explore music through singing, musical instruments in a play-based curriculum.

 

About the Role

• Teach small groups of young children in a supportive team-teaching environment

• Lead and assist with singing, movement, rhythm games, and floor-based musical activities

• Help create a nurturing, joyful atmosphere where children can confidently explore music

• Collaborate with the classroom teacher to support lesson delivery and classroom flow

• Possibility of additional administration work

 

The Ideal Candidate Will:

• Love working with young children (early childhood / preschool age)

• Be confident singing with children and leading simple musical activities

• Ideally play an instrument such as ukulele

• Bring warmth, imagination, and playful energy to the classroom

• Be comfortable participating in floor-based activities and movement

 

Requirements

• Valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) or Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration

• Confident singer

• Reliability and availability on Thursday mornings

• Teaching qualification or early childhood/music teaching experience highly regarded but not essential
